Call for abstracts

All are invited and encouraged to submit scientific abstracts to be considered for presentation at the 12th World Congress on the Menopause. Submission of an abstract intended for presentation will imply that the authors have neither published the information elsewhere nor presented the information at a national or international meeting prior to this meeting.

Young investigators (under 36 years of age at the time of the Congress) are invited to enter their abstracts for the prestigious Robert B. Greenblatt Prizes. The International Menopause Society is also pleased to announce the establishment of The IMS/Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Henry Burger Prize, The IMS/Bayer Schering Pharma Hermann Schneider Prize for the best communication on Menopause and Breast Health and The IMS/Bayer Schering Pharma Thomas Clarkson Prize for the best communication on Menopause and Cardiovascular Health. More information about these Prizes and the submission procedure can be found by clicking on the buttons below.

Abstracts submitted for oral or poster presentation will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee. Once an abstract is accepted, the Committee will decide whether it is to be presented as an oral communication or as a Poster.

Oral Presentation:

Each presentation, to be given by the author, should last no more than 7 minutes and will be followed by a 3-minute discussion period. Authors will be informed of the day and time of each oral presentation in the letter of acceptance of their abstract.

Poster Presentation:

Authors of those abstracts accepted for poster presentation will be notified of the day and time of their poster session. During the poster session, one of the authors must be available at the specified times to answer questions from attendees.

Information about the size and format of the posters will be given to authors in their letter of acceptance. However, the Congress will offer all attendees a “Poster printing” service so that they do not need to bring their poster to Madrid but can collect it onsite in the Conference center. Further information about this service will be provided by the deadline for submission of abstracts (February 15, 2008).
